Founded by Barry and Cindy, Freedombulls is dedicated to celebrating the rich history, unique traits, and diverse needs of all bulldog breeds, while setting the gold standard for Leavitt Bulldog care and breeding.

The Leavitt Bulldog: History, Athleticism, and Temperament

The Leavitt Bulldog is the oldest and most original lineage of the Old English Bulldog (OEB). The breed was meticulously developed in 1970 by David Leavitt, who set out to recreate the look and health of the traditional 19th-century bulldog without the modern health complications. Today, David Leavitt still passionately guides the breed’s evolution through the Leavitt Bulldog Association (LBA), an organization we are proud members of.

Unlike modern brachycephalic breeds, the Leavitt Bulldog is a true athlete. They excel in:

• High-Energy Sports: Long-distance walks, rollerblading, and agility.

• Canine Sports: Obedience training, flyball, and tracking.

• Family Companionship: Renowned for their desire to please, playful nature, and gentle disposition with children.

Our Elite Breeding Philosophy & Health Standards

At Freedombulls, we believe that responsible breeding requires a strict commitment to health, genetics, and transparency.We love all bulldog types, but we firmly believe that health must always come before aesthetics.

Our Health Guarantee: We never breed dogs with known hereditary diseases. While working with live animals means nature can occasionally surprise us, we utilize rigorous preventative screening to mitigate risks and ensure the longevity of our puppies.

Strict Health Screening Protocols

We wait until our dogs reach 24 months of age before conducting comprehensive health screenings. Females are never bred before their second birthday. Our screening process includes:
